The first phase of SUTRA initiative was funded by the EU and UNDP in the amount of close to 2.2 million Euro (EU 2 million Euro), while the domestic authorities through the SCRDP provided the matching funds making total of about 4.4* million Euro.
EU and UNDP allocated 4.1 million Euro (EU 4 million) for SUTRA II that started in September 2004. The funding of about 3 million Euro provided by the domestic authorities through the BiH Return Fund, based on the decision made by the SCRDP and the funding of about 2.1 million Euro provided by the Royal Netherlands Embassy brought the total to approximately 9.2* million Euro for the second phase.
The third phase of SUTRA program is funded by the European Union (4 million Euro), national authorities through the BiH Return Fund (2 million Euro), UNDP (200.000 Euro), UNHCR (256.000 Euro) and SUTRA partner municipalities (569,000 Euro) bringing the total project funds for SUTRA 3 to the amount of 7.025* million Euro. In addition, municipalities from SUTRA 2 and SUTRA 3 provided local parallel co-financing as per the tables bellow. The municipal contributions in SUTRA 2 were not only in cash, but in kind also. They were used to complement SUTRA activities at the local level.
